This story concerns a farmer who acquired a new rooster. He waws very energetic and serviced the entire flock of some five hundred hens in the first two days. On the third day he took care of all the duck, geese, and turkeys on the farm. On the fourth day the farmer came upon the rooster lying in the middle of the farm yard. The farmer shook his head, and said to himself, "I knew it was too good to last." Whereupon the rooster looks up at him, points at the sky with his wing, and says, "Shhhh, Chicken hawk!"
